Calaveras Supes Amend General Plan

Tuesday, March 27, 2007 - 12:10 PM

San Andreas, CA -- The Calaveras County Board of Supervisors Tuesday passed its first two General Plan amendments of the year.

The board is allowed to amend the General Plan four times a year. This group of two is the first amendment in 2007.

Planning Director Bob Sellman called the first project a minor change. It allows Saddle Creek Resort in Copperopolis to adjust a boundary line between the golf course and a future residential lot.

The second amendment drew a bit more attention. It changes the land use designation and zoning on six parcels in Valley Springs.

The privately owned land is located along an old railroad track at the intersection of Highway 12 and 26.

The properties were zoned for agriculture but were changed to commercial. Sellman says two potential projects include a fast food restaurant and a parking lot.
