Angels Camp, CA -- A group of local students are on their way to Washington D.C. for a five day history tour.
Group leader Sandie Airola says the trip is offered to 7th and 8th graders and their families. This year 30 students and 15 adults will make the journey departing from Mark Twain Elementary School Tuesday evening. Their first stop is at an Amish homestead and farmland back east. Then it's on to Gettysburg and Washington D.C.
The bulk of the trip will be spent touring Washington, with stops at the Whitehouse, the Washington Monument and Arlington National Cemetery.
The group returns home in the early hours of Monday morning.
