Sonora, CA -- The Sacramento-Sierra chapter of the American Red Cross will bring the curtain down on its annual fundraising month with a two hour remote broadcast on the three Clarke Broadcasting stations.
Mother Lode District Manager Carole Mutzner is hopeful of raising $30,000 by the end of the month to meet local needs for the coming year. Mutzner adds that while the Red Cross has been commissioned by Congress to serve as a first responder, it receives no funding from the federal government. Mother Lode residents are encouraged to stop by the local office at 13669 Mono Way and make a donation. The majority of funds raised are utilized to house and care for individuals who are victims of local disasters such as residential fires and flooding.
"Big Joe" Marshall from Today's Country KKBN and Justin Flores of STAR 92.7 will host the two hour remote (4-6pm) to celebrate the Red Cross March fundraiser.
