Twain Harte, Ca -- The Twain Harte – Long Barn and Summerville Union High School districts have approved a three year agreement to share a superintendent.
Current Summerville UHSD Superintendent Dr. John H. Keiter has been appointed to the position. The decision follows the announcement made by Twain - Harte Long Barn Superintendent Mike Brusa earlier this year that he will be stepping down at the end of the school year. Part of the reason to consolidate was attributed to the shrinking enrollments of the districts. “We are very pleased with the agreement to share superintendent services with Summerville High School,” says Twain Harte Board President Joy Meyer. “Dr. Keiter is highly qualified and has the experience necessary to fill this critical position in our district.”
“This will be a great opportunity for the two districts to work closely together,” adds Summerville High School Board President Adrienne Alderson. “This can only be a great plus for the students of both districts.”
The agreement begins on July 1, 2007 and runs through June 30, 2010.
