Sonora, Ca -- Four individuals were recognized at a ceremony held this afternoon in the Tuolumne County Supervisors Chambers in recognition of Crime Victims Rights Week.
“The purpose of Crime Victims Rights Week is to raise awareness both in the public and in law enforcement to the rights that crime victims have in the criminal justice system,” says District Attorney Donald Segerstrom. Those recognized included Police Detective Deborah Moss, Police Officer Jaemie Boeding, Easter Davidson and Cheryl Peterson. It was noted that the four women had gone above and beyond the call of duty to assist victims.
The four were selected by the staff of the Victim Witness Assistance Center. On hand to present certificates was Fourth District Supervisor Mark Thornton.
