Jessica Haynie - Mother Lode Roundup Queen Candidate #1

Sonora, CA -- Jessica Haynie is one of the four candiates competing for the 2007 Mother Lode Round Up Queen's title.

Jessica makes her home in the Jamestown area. This year the 18 year is a junior at Tioga High School. She has one brother and two sisters.

Haynie says the competition has included speeches, hair and makeup, horsemanship and modeling. The toughest part of the competition according to Haynie is the hair and makeup because, "I'm basically a tomboy."

Despite what many think, there is no cutthroat competition among the four contestants. In fact, Haynie says they have already become good friends.

The Queen's Horsemanship competition is scheduled for 10AM Saturday at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds. There is no charge for admission.

The Queen Pageant is set for Sunday evening at five o'clock at the Sonora Elks Lodge.
