Sober Grad Parties Are A Highlight Of Graduation Festivities

Sonora, Ca -- High School graduations will be taking place across the Mother Lode over the next couple of weeks.

The CHP, along with local parents and businesses, is again putting on "Sober Grad Parties" at numerous different high schools. The all-night events annually take place on the night of graduation. They include dancing, food, laser tag, games and other activities.

“It is a wonderful party,” says Sonora Area CHP Officer Tom Wills. “Being in this community for 10 years, I cannot believe how this community just reaches out to these kids.”

Wills says it is always a high energy night, and often times one of the last chances for the kids to get together and have a good time.
