Jamestown, Ca -- Two were injured following a Wednesday night vehicle accident on Hwy 108/120 at O'Byrnes Ferry Rd.
According to the CHP, 22 year old Cassandra Romero of Colfax was traveling south on O'Byrnes Ferry and failed to yield the right of way to a west bound water truck as she entered Hwy 108/120. The truck's driver, 56 year old Walter Ogden of Oakdale, swerved to the left. The CHP reports that the the maneuver made by Ogden likely saved Romero's life. When the truck swerved, the front of the truck impacted the left front of the sedan instead of the driver's door. Romero's 1998 Audi was knocked off the road and traveled down an embankment. Ogden's water truck came to a rest in a dirt/grass field.
Romero suffered what was described as minor injuries. Ogden suffered minor to moderate injuries.
