Veteran's Memorial Planned For San Andreas

San Andreas, CA -- A memorial for veterans everywhere is planned for the Government Center in San Andreas.

Tuesday the Board of Supervisors approved the construction of the memorial as a Boy Scout Eagle Scout project.

County Administrative Officer Tom Mitchell, a local Boy Scout leader himself, says Eagle Scout candidate Drake Walker wishes to construct the memorial including two cannons formerly held at the San Andreas People's Cemetery.

The goal is to dedicate the facility on Veterans Day in November.
