Matt Dillon Customers - Don't Hold Your Breath

Sonora, CA -- Hopefully nobody is holding their breath for Tuolumne Utility District to take over control of the 186 customer Matt Dillon Water Company.

T.U.D. General Manager Pete Kampa is still waiting for some much needed paperwork before the deal can be closed. Once it is closed, the 51 percent owner of Matt Dillon, Matt Beauchamp, will be out of the picture.

T.U.D. has already agreed to pay $51,000 for the much maligned water system that has failed to meet a number of Environmental Health Division deadlines. In fact the county is now preparing to fine Matt Dillon in the neighborhood of $45,000 for those delays and its continuing inadequate service to customers in the Curtis Creek and Wards Ferry Ranches areas.

The Board of Supervisors, in an effort to expadite the process, has offered to waive the fines if Matt Dillon's assets are transfered to T.U.D. To date, that has not happened.
