Groveland Woman Killed In Single Vehicle Accident

Groveland, CA -- 57 year old Judith Parmalee Castellanos of Groveland was killed in a single vehicle accident this morning.

According to the CHP report the accident occured at approximately 8:25. Castellanos was westbound on Pine Mountain Drive when her vehicle drifted off the north edge of the roadway. The vehicle became airborne before striking the bottom of a dirt ravine.

Castellanos was not wearing her seat belt at the time of the accident. She was pronounced dead shortly after nine o'clock. Earlier in the day she was treated for shortness of breath. An autopsy will determine if she died of an apparent heart attack.

Castellanos becomes the fourteenth traffic related fatality in Tuolumne County this year and the sixth fatality in the two county area in the last six days.
