Sonora, CA -- Two fires, perhaps caused by lightning strikes, have hit the Stanislaus National Forest this morning.
Spokesman Pat Kaunert states the two fires are located eight miles southeast of MiWuk at Thompson Peak and Niagara Creek. Engines and Helicopter 517 are on sight.
Kaunert adds that no residential areas are in any way threatened by these fires.
