Valley Springs Man Killed In Single Vehicle Accident

San Andreas, CA -- 48 year old Kevin Connell of Valley Springs was killed in a single vehicle accident Friday evening.

The CHP reported Connell was traveling north on Milton Rd. a half a mile north of Hunt Rd. at an unknown speed. For an unknown reason he allowed his 2001 Ford F250 pickup to leave the roadway. He swerved back to the left across the southbound lane, rotated counter-clockwise and ran off the roadway. The vehicle overturned coming to rest on top of a barbed wire fence. Connell was trapped in the driver's seat where he succumed to his injuries.

Due to the location of the vehicle and darkness, it is unknown exactly when the accident occured. A passerby reported the accident on a 911 call at 8:47 pm.

This marks the 14th traffic fatality in Calaveras County this year.
