San Andreas Resident Suffers Major Injuries In Vehicle Accident

SanAndreas, CA -- 22 year old Anthony James was lifeflighted to a Modesto hospital Friday evening at approximately 5:30 with major injuries after being involved in a two vehicle accident on Hwy 49 south of Mecham Ranch Rd.

According to the CHP report 87 year old John Ferreira of Mokelumne Hill was headed northbound on Hwy 49 when he allowed his 1987 Toyota truck to drift into the southbound lane resulting in a head-on collision with James' 1984 Porsche.

Ferreira and his passenger, 81 year old Elaine Peyton of San Andreas, were transported by ambulance to Mark Twain-St. Joseph Hospital.

All three individuals were wearing their safety restraint belts.
