Sonora, Ca -- 43-year-old Lloyd Johnson of Sonora found himself behind bars Monday after allegedly leaving the scene of an accident.
Shortly after 3pm, the Sonora PD was dispatched to a report of a vehicle accident in the area of Washington St., and Cowan St. Upon arrival, they were unable to locate any vehicles. Witnesses told officers that the driver of an International Travel-All struck a rock wall on Washington St. after veering to the right for an unknown reason. The officers followed a trail of vehicle fluids to Orchard Ave, approximately one-half mile from the accident scene, and located the vehicle, the driver and a passenger.
The passenger, 37-year-old Julie Johnson was reportedly complaining of head, neck and stomach pains as a result of the accident. She was transported to Sonora Regional Medical Center.
Lloyd Johnson was placed under arrest for felony hit and run. Johnson told officers that he didn't want to block traffic following the accident, so he left the area and drove home.
