Jamestown, CA -- The CHP and the Tuolumne County Sheriff's Department were involved in a high speed chase that reached speeds of 100mph during the one o'clock hour this morning.
A Sheriff's deputy noticed a vehicle that had been reported as stolen pulling out of Chip's Chevron parking lot in Jamestown. A chase ensued and after a passenger exited the vehicle and escaped, the driver was ejected when the 2004 Chevy Trail Blazer hit a dirt enbankment on Hwy 120 west of O'Byrnes Ferry Rd. CHP Officer Tom Wills states the unidentified driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was subsequently ejected. The individual suffered major injuries and was lifeflighted to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto.
