Armed Man Arrested In Sonora After Assault

Sonora, Ca -- An unidentified Jamestown man was arrested following a Thursday afternoon assault in Sonora.

Sheriff's deputies were called to a fight in front of a residence on Silver Pine Dr. A female reported that she had been struck on the head and punched in the stomach. A witness told deputies she saw a male chasing the victim down a driveway.

By the time the deputies arrived, however, the suspect had already left the scene. The suspect returned to the residence later in the afternoon, and the deputies were dispatched again. In the suspects possession was a .32 caliber handgun. He was arrested and taken into custody.
