Prevent Child Abuse Calaveras Council Launches New Campaign

Saturday, October 27, 2007 - 08:45 AM

San Andreas, Ca -- "It Only Takes A Minute," is the title of a campaign launched this month by the Prevent Child Abuse Calaveras Council.

Spokesperson Tammy Beilstein says the statewide campaign is an effort to bring a fresh hope that all children can get a good start in life if the adults around them take small actions to nurture, protect, praise and love them.

The Council is encouraging residents to engage with the children in their lives through ongoing, small acts of kindness. Beilstein says some examples of an explained or descriptive compliment include:

- Thank you for being courteous

- I like the way you bring out the best in others

- You have a beautiful smile

- You really went above and beyond on this project

- I love the passion in your artwork

- You are a good friend

During the month of October, the Prevent Child Abuse Calaveras Council is offering a pledge card for adults to complete. The cards will be displayed in December on the PCACC Christmas tree in the lobby of the CAL Works building in San Andreas.

To learn more about resources and support offered in the community for parents and caregivers, you can call the Prevent Child Abuse Calaveras Council at 209-754-6110.
