Horses Cause Collision On Hwy 49 Near SonoraMonday, December 24, 2007 - 08:25 AM

Sonora, Ca -- A pick-up truck collided with two horses that wandered onto Hwy 49 just north of Poppy Hills Rd Sunday night at 9:40pm.
The driver of the truck was not injured, but one of the horses was killed. Shortly after the collision, a motorcycle driven by 53-year-old Stephen Cox of Sonora came over the rise in the road, and collided with the truck. According to the CHP, Cox sustained major injuries, notably a broken leg.
