San Andreas, Ca -- The San Andreas California Highway Patrol office reports that 80% of all available officers are on the road as part of the Christmas Maximum Enforcement Period that is running through Tuesday night.
Officers are looking for drivers under the influence, those without seatbelts and anyone who is over the speed limit. Last year, 28 people were killed on California roadways and 1,351 were arrested for DUI by the CHP during the Christmas MEP.
Motorists can also report suspected drunk drivers by calling 9-1-1 with a description of the vehicle, its location and direction of travel.
