Sonora, CA -- At the request of the National Forest Counties and Schools Coalition, Tuolumne County Schools Superintendent Joe Silva is headed for Washington, D.C. again in an effort to renew the Secure Rural Community and Self Determination Act.
Silva has a Wednesday 4:30pm meeting with Senator Dianne Feinstein regarding renewal of the Act that would bring $2.5 million to Tuolumne County on an annual basis for education, roads and the Resource Advisory Committee. The N.F.C.S.C. is hopeful of adding the Act to the impending Stimulus Package currently being legislated in Congress.
