CHP Places Extra Emphasis On Chain Control Areas

San Andreas, Ca -- The San Andreas CHP office says there will be an extra emphasis on finding travelers with improper equipment for the conditions this weekend.

“We will be enforcing chain control laws and citing those that are found not to be in compliance,” says Officer Mike Maddox. “All it takes is a few motorists sliding around the roadway to upset the orderly flow of traffic.”

The CHP is advising travelers to follow the speed limit, do not stop in the traffic lane to install chains, carry extra supplies, allow extra time when driving and wear your seatbelt.
