"High Noon" Showing Draws Crowd And Memories

Sonora, Ca -- A crowd estimated at 160 plus gathered at the Sonora High School Auditorium Saturday to pay tribute to the 1952 film High Noon, which was primarily filmed in Tuolumne County.

The event, hosted by the Friends of the Tuolumne County Film Commission, featured stories from many local residents who were a part of the making of the film. There was also a slideshow showing what many of the scenes of the film look like today.

Following the presentation on the film's history, the classic was shown in its entirety. With over 300 films or television shows having been filmed in Tuolumne County, the Friends of the Film Commission plans to hold quarterly events to salute locally shot productions.
