Sacramento, Ca -- A Winter Storm Warning for the Sierra Nevada will go into effect at one o'clock this afternoon and continue until 10pm Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.
Snowfall accumulations of 1-3 feet are possible at 5,000 feet, and 4-5 feet at the highest elevations. In the Mother Lode specifically, a High Wind Watch will go into effect at 4pm today and continue through Sunday morning. The winds will be accompanied by moderate to heavy rainfall, which could lead to poor driving conditions.
Power outages are also possible.
