Lawmakers Recognize Upcoming Calaveras Frog JumpTuesday, May 06, 2008 - 04:20 PM

Sacramento, Ca -- In an effort to recognize the upcoming Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee, lawmakers took a break during the noon hour today to square off in the 34th annual Capital Frog Jump.
“This lighthearted lunchtime tradition is a fun way for elected officials to come together and help promote the Calaveras County Fair,” said Senator Dave Cox.
In the Legislative and Public category, Assemblyman Jim Beall, Jr. (D-San Jose) took first prize. His frog “Alcohops” jumped 9' 2”.
Secretary of State Debra Bowen's “Tad Poll Worker” leaped 10' 2” to take first place in the Constitutional Officers Category.
The Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee is set for Wednesday, May 14th through Sunday, May 18th.
