Sonora And Ebbetts Are Open But What About Tioga?

Yosemite, CA -- Sonora and Ebbetts passes are officially open for the summer months but the same cannot be said for Tioga Pass ... at least not yet.

According to Yosemite Ranger Adrienne Freeman administrative staff are permitted to cross the summit but there is still the fear of avalanches in some areas.

In addition guardrails have to be repaired or replaced while the bolts on some have to be tightened following the winter snow.

Park crews are hopeful of having the highest of the three passes open prior to the Memorial Day weekend.
