Officers Will Be Looking For Drunk Drivers Saturday Night

Sonora, Ca -- A sobriety/drivers license checkpoint will be carried out this evening in Sonora by the Police Department, CHP and Sheriff's Office.

The Police Department reports that all drivers that pass through the checkpoint will be checked to see if they are under the influence of alcohol or driving without a license. The checkpoint will be operated between 8pm-2am at a location that has not been announced.

The sobriety/drivers license checkpoint is funded by a grant from the State of California Office of Traffic Safety.
