Davis To Resign As Head Of SRMC

Tuesday, July 08, 2008 - 04:20 PM
Lary Davis - President-CEO Sonora Regional Medical Center

Sonora, Ca -- After 19 years on the job, Sonora Regional Medical Center CEO Lary Davis has announced that he will step down from the position at the end of September.

"Having worked at the hospital since 1986, I have had the pleasure of working on many exciting projects including the development of our new hospital,” reads a statement by Davis. “With many of the accomplishments behind us, I now feel that it is an opportune time for me to transition the leadership of the hospital. It is my prayer that our hospital's mission will continue to be fulfilled in our community, and I am confident that it will.”

An e-mail release from Adventist Health says that Davis has decided to pursue other professional opportunities with new challenges and expanded responsibilities.

“We appreciate what Lary has accomplished at the Medical Center,” said Larry Dodds, Executive Vice President/COO of Adventist Health and Board Chairman for the hospital. “Under his leadership, a new 72-bed acute care replacement hospital was built along with a medical office building. In addition, he developed strong employee, physician and community relationships, and skillfully managed an influx of patients and consolidated services when Tuolumne General Hospital closed. We wish Lary all the best as he pursues his next career opportunity."

The search will now begin for a new CEO.
