Sonora, CA -- OnCURE Medical Corporation radiation services will be returning to Sonora but not for another five to seven months.
According to OnCURE President/CEO David Chernow, the Denver based company will establish its own facility off Greenley Rd. In the past OnCURE contracted with Sonora Regional Medical Center to provide radiation services at the hospital. However that contract was not renewed and OnCure departed the premises one month ago.
S.R.M.C. is in the process of purchasing radiation equipment. Once that is completed and staff is hired and trained, the hospital will have control of all the Cancer Center's elements.
No definitive timetable has been given by the hospital for a radiation service opening date.
