CHP Finds Bicyclist Was Intoxicated: Not Hit By Vehicle

Mokelumne Hill, Ca -- Shortly after three o'clock this afternoon, the CHP received a report of a collision between a vehicle and a bicyclist on Hwy 26 in Mokelumne Hill.

CHP Officer Jaimie Castillo says that when law enforcement arrived on scene they found that the accident was caused by the rider's intoxication, rather than another vehicle.

The bicyclist has been airlifted to a hospital in Modesto, and Castillo says a complaint will be filed with the District Attorney's Office. Castillo says the name of the bicyclist will not be released until Friday morning.
