Friday Evening Clean Sweep For Mother Lode Schools

Sonora, CA -- Every one of the Mother Lode area high schools came up winners in prep football action Friday evening.

The Sonora Wildcats edged the top rated team in the district, Grace Davis, at Johansen High 16-13 to run their record to 3-0. Next Friday the 'Cats will host Ceres.

The Summerville Bears celebrated Homecoming with a 45-28 win over DeNair. The 2-1 Bears will travel to LeGrand Friday.

Bret Harte rebounded from a three point loss to Central Valley last weekend with a 28-14 road win over Hughson. The Bullfrogs will host Ripon during Homecoming next Friday.

On the road Calaveras blanked Ceres 34-0. The 2-1 Redskins will host Hilmar Friday.

Oakdale ended a 16 game winning streak for defending Sac-Joaquin Section Division 4 champion Whitney with a 24-7 home win over the Wildcats. The Mustangs will travel to Central Valley next weekend.
