Traffic Counts At Yosemite
Yosemite, CA — $1.3 million from the FTA (Federal Transportation Administration) is going to Yosemite National Park to kick start a new internet based traffic program.
Yosemite will soon start posting real-time updates on the park’s website so visitors can see the actual traffic counts at all entrances. In addition, it will allow visitors to view a model of traffic congestion throughout the park.
“This will help visitors decide when they should come into Yosemite and which times they should avoid,” says Park Ranger Kari Cobb. “It is a pretty exciting program.”
The information will be posted at www.nps.gov/yose.
Funding is allocated specifically through the Paul S. Sarbanes Transit in Parks Program.
