This is a timely, very true article excellently written. Thank you, Vera!
Perhaps if read by some who habitually burn leaves, some of the seasonal smoke may hopefully be prevented.

Thank you for this informative article. The burning issue is a
disaster. People burn wet leaves, they smolder all day and pollute the environment. I dread when the burn restrictions are lifted. One way of reducing the leaf spread but leaving them is to use a lawn mower; that is what we do and thus we have a good mulch

something needs to be done in Tuolumne city, the smoke comes into my home and I have to breath it, burn days should stop, because people end up burning more that just leaves here, it stinks pretty bad. Maybe the leaves could be raked into piles and taken to the community garden!! I see that they are not letting people burn in other counties on certain days, the smoke is not good for the health of the people who live here, in my situation I turn on my heater and the pulls the smoke and the smell into my home. After the fires in yosemite this summer and the smoke we had to smell, something needs to be done about this, we set in a valley, and the lingering of smoke is not healthy!!
