Sonora, CA — Six acres of vegetation were burned early Sunday afternoon adjacent to Hwy 108 and Tulloch Rd. 20 miles west of Sonora and 15 miles east of Oakdale.
According to the C.H.P., the fire started on the north side of the highway and jumped the west bound lanes to scorch the median strip.
The initial report came at 12:20 with containment at 12:51.
C.D.F. Dispatcher Ed Allendorf says one battalion chief, an air atack, one helicopter, two air tankers, seven engines, one water tanker, one dozer and two Sierra Conservation Center ground crews responded to the fire.
There were no reported injuries and no structures were damaged. No cause of the fire has been determined at this time.
