Bring Justice To 25-Year-Old Murder Case

Copperopolis, CA – As Cold Case month comes to an end, investigators are hoping someone may have the key to solving a 25-year-old murder in Copperopolis.

The victim, 47-year-old Hector Girol, was found gunned down in his shower on September 9th, 2000, shortly before midnight. Detectives at the scene described the incident as a “suspicious death” because Girol had multiple gunshot wounds, which sheriff’s officials reported was ultimately the cause of his death.

The shooting was deemed a homicide and, two and a half decades later, remains unsolved. By putting the case in the spotlight again, investigators hope those who may have information will come forward. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Anonymous Tip Line at (209) 754-6030.
