Calaveras County, CA — A review period begins Friday on a proposal that would limit development on 25 square miles in the towns of West Point, Glencoe and Railroad Flat.
It´s called the Blue Mountain Residential center and county planners are proposing to change the general plan to limit any future land divisions to 40 acres or more. Current plans allow for as small as one half-acre lots.
Planner John Andersen says the community is concerned about all the density currently provided in the residential centers of those communities.
The public review period for the change ends September 1. The Planning Commission will hear the proposal on September 21.
