Sonora, CA – As the rain continues to fall in the Mother Lode region, and more is forecasted for tomorrow, the CHP reminds travelers of the basics when driving in wet conditions.
Noting that the first rains can cause roadways to be slick due to fluids leaked or spilled onto them, the CHP first asks motorists to slow down, buckle up, and drive safely. They offer these safety tips for driving when it is just sprinkling or a downpour:
Additionally, severe weather, like snow or ice storms, can create hazardous road conditions. The CHP provided these tips to prepare for winter and remember the basics:
And one key reminder from the CHP: “If your windshield wipers are activated, your headlights need to be on as well.”
