Over 25 Community Grants Awarded This Year

Angels Camp, CA – Over 25 Calaveras County community providers get a financial boost this year from the Calaveras Community Foundation (CCF).

CCF has granted grants to 27 groups totaling about $152,500.00. Its yearly competitive awards provide financial support to nonprofit groups, schools, and government entities in Calaveras County. This year’s grants are awarded to:

1. Amador County Senior Citizens – Meals on Wheels program for Calaveras
   residents;
2. Blue Mountain Coalition for Youth & Families – Groceries for community food
   project. Grant made possible by a generous grant from the San Joaquin
   Community Foundation’s Health and Wellness Fund to better health and wellness
   in Calaveras County;
3. Blue Mountain Community Renewal Council – Health & safety programs;
4. Blue Mountain Players (West Point Town Square) – Construction of community
   gazebo. Grant made possible by generous donations from the Jackson Rancheria
   Hotel/Casino Community Fund-Calaveras Employees;
5. Calaveras Community Television – Future Film Makers project;
6. Calaveras County Library (San Andreas) – Furniture, rugs, floor cushions, and
   play-space items. Grant made possible by generous donations from the Jackson
   Rancheria Hotel/Casino Community Fund-Calaveras Employees;
7. Calaveras County Search & Rescue – Team training for trailing and searches;
8. Calaveras Humane Society – Senior veterinary services assistance;
9. Calaveras Unified School District (Calaveras High School) – Paint gym wall for
   Gym upgrades;
10. County of Calaveras Public Health Division – Backpacks, school supplies, &
    hygiene kits. Grant made possible by a generous grant from the San Joaquin
    Community Foundation’s Health and Wellness Fund to better health and wellness
    in Calaveras County.;
11. Douglas Flat Community Center – Construction of wall footings for restoration
    project;
12. Ebbetts Pass Community Center – Window rescue and repair;
13. Friends of Calaveras Animal Service – Animal welfare projects;
14. Friends of Turner Park – Weed cloth for playground restoration project;
15. Gardens to Grow In – Garden shed constructions, concrete & shelving;
16. Good Samaritan Community Covenant Church – Food pantry;
17. Hospice of Amador and Calaveras – Respite care for Calaveras County;
18. Mark Twain Elementary School – New school display cases
19. Motherlode Feral Cat Alliance – Animal welfare projects;
20. Murphys Community Club– Park bathroom upgrades. Grant made possible by a
    generous grant from the Community Betterment Fund for the Murphys Area
    provided by Bob & Joanna Reagan.
21. Murphys School of Music – Recording equipment;
22. Nexus Youth & Family Services – Youth center expansion and Nurtured Hearts
    Approach Workshops;
23. San Andreas Community Covenant Church – Food pantry;
24. St. Patrick’s Helping Hands – Food pantry;
25. The Resource Connection – County food bank. Grant made possible by a
    generous grant from the San Joaquin Community Foundation’s Health and
    Wellness Fund to better health and wellness in Calaveras County;
26. Tri-Dam Lions Community Service Corporation – Well improvements;
27. Valley Springs Elementary School PTO – Fix or replace existing student water
    fountains. Grant made possible by a generous grant from the San Joaquin
    Community Foundation’s Health and Wellness Fund to better health and wellness
    in Calaveras County.
