San Andreas, CA — The Calaveras County Sheriff´s Department Bomb Team was called out after a suspicious package was left atop a mailbox in San Andreas Friday.
Dispatch received a call after 5 p.m. about a package sitting on top of a Post Office collection box in front of the Bank of Lodi.
The bomb team, San Andreas Fire and CHP responded to the scene.
The bomb team x-rayed the package and found several wires and unidentified components.
Sheriff´s Captain Clay Hawkins says the package was shot open with high velocity water. No explosives were found.
