West Point, CA — Congressman Dan Lungren is in Calaveras County this week touring a wood-recycling project known as CHIPS in West Point.
CHIPS stands for Calaveras Healthy Impact Product Solutions. The project turns brush and smaller-diameter trees into usable wood products such as wood chips or mulch.
Recently Lungren´s aids toured the facility. Supervisor Steve Wilensky says after Lungren heard his staff´s report, he requested a face-to-face visit.
Along with three of his staff members, Lungren´s visit is set for 1:30 today.
