Concerts in Coffill Park To End

Sonora, CA — Despite announcing this will be the final season for the Concerts in Coffill Park series, Sonora Chambers of Commerce officials see a silver lining.

The concerts were created to help keep people downtown after 2nd Saturday Art Nights by bringing energy, music, and community spirit to Downtown Sonora in the evenings, noted chamber officials. While ending the series may hit a wrong note with some, chamber officials say they have achieved their goal.

“When we first started the series, there were few nighttime options downtown,” said Sonora Chamber President Katie Dunn. “Now, with venues like The Armory, Severventes, The Tap Room, and Black Bomb Entertainment offering live music and nightlife, our mission is complete. It’s time to pass the torch to our incredible local businesses who continue to make downtown Sonora vibrant after dark.”

This is not the “day the music died” for outdoor concerts downtown, as the Chamber may host a special “Summer Send-Off” concert in October to celebrate the community’s continued support and the thriving downtown music scene. For more information, click here for the chamber’s website.
