Sonora, CA — Labor Day weekend has not even come to a close and already the Highway Patrol has made nearly a quarter more arrests for driving under the influence than the same weekend in 2005.
More than 1,100 people are facing DUI charges after being arrested in just a two day period. CHP officials say nine people have died on the state´s highways so far; the maximum enforcement period ends tonight at midnight.
