Sonora, CA– Although gas prices aren´t what they used to be years ago, the average cost of a gallon of gas has dropped radically in the last month.
AAA-Northern California officials say the reason for the decline is a result of the cost of crude oil which has fallen about 15 percent in the last few weeks.
They add that because Americans tend to travel less after Labor Day than in the summer time, consumption is declining which also raises the supplies of both gas and oil.
Currently at the Gold County Gas on Washington Street, a gallon of unleaded gas is $2.95.
Officials add consumers can do their part in keeping gas costs down by shopping aggressively for the lowest price.
