Sonora, CA– Local merchants may be able to rest now that Brenda Teunissen-Dutra of Oakdale is behind bars.
Wednesday morning the Sonora Police Department received a phone call regarding some luggage a female subject had left behind at a restaurant on Tuesday.
The luggage was found to be owned by 39-year-old Teunissen-Dutra, who was the same person the Sonora Police Department had issued a merchants alert on recently for writing numerous bad checks. Earlier that day Teunissen-Dutra had written a bad check at Camacho´s Taqueria in Sonora.
Officials say she also failed to appear in court Wednesday, regarding another check matter. When Teunissen-Dutra arrived at the Police Department to retrieve her luggage, she was arrested for failing to appear in court and writing a fraudulent check.
During the search arrest, officials found 1.3 grams of suspected methamphetamine on Teunissen-Dutra as well.
