Sonora, CA– Remains of several crushed and scrapped automobiles may still be trailing on Jamestown Road.
Friday, Miguel Vasquez of Tulare, was driving a 1993 Frieghtuner tractor owned by Tulare Iron/Metal Inc. The tractor was pulling a flatbed trailer loaded with crushed automobiles.
As Vasquez entered a curve at an unsafe speed, about a mile from Golf Links Road, the load shifted to the right causing the trailer to tip onto its right side. The trailer pulled the truck tractor over onto the right side of the right shoulder.
Officials say a portion of the load of crushed automobiles broke free from the trailer. They say traffic was controlled at the scene and Vasquez was uninjured.
