Arnold, CA — The Calaveras County Board of Supervisors gave a green light to the development of 48 townhomes in Arnold Monday.
The board spent more than an hour getting the developer, FM Company of Sacramento, to front the costs for needed road improvements near the project.
Lake Meadow Townhomes would be built at Blagen and Dunbar roads.
The developer says the intersection of Highway 4 and Blagen Road is already deficient and that he shouldn´t be held liable for the entire cost of any improvements.
A compromise was reached to create a road basin so the developer can be reimbursed by future projects.
Previously the Planning Commission approved the project on the agreement that the developer would pay his fair share up to $30,000 for a possible a signal at the intersection.
Since then community members met and came up with a better solution and that is to make Blagen Road a one-way out to the highway and to use Henry Road to enter the local road system.
