A Busy Month For Calaveras County Probation Department

Calaveras County, CA – October was a busy month for Calaveras County Probation Department officers, who worked with sheriff’s AB 109 deputies to remove dangerous drugs and weapons from the streets.

According to sheriff’s officials, while enforcing compliance to ensure community safety, officers completed 100 high-risk field contacts. The images display the contraband seized, which includes two firearms and 130 rounds of ammunition in the possession of prohibited individuals. Additionally, authorities confiscated two machetes, a baton, 40 hypodermic needles, 12 methamphetamine pipes, 228.11 grams of narcotics, 90 mL of narcotics, and 13.39 grams of psilocybin mushrooms.

Sheriff’s officials report that the seizure of this contraband led to 16 arrests, adding, “Every day probation officers work tirelessly to provide rehabilitative services to clients; however, they provide equal attention to ensuring the safety of the community of Calaveras County.”
