Bret Harte beats Delhi in round one of the playoffs

Angels Camp, CA – The Bret Harte Bullfrogs, picked to suit up for the inaugural 2025 CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Football Playoffs Bowl Games, ended their five-game losing streak with a victory against the Delhi Hawks, 41-33, on Friday night.

Bret Harte is in the Mother Lode league, and the Bullfrogs performed admirably offensively last night, scoring touchdowns in a marked improvement from last week’s season-ending game, in which they only scored six points.

Sonora, Summerville, and Calaveras are all in the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Football Playoffs and will kick off play on their home turf next Friday, November 14, 2025. The Wildcats (10-0), undefeated in the Trans Valley League and currently in first place, are the top seed in the Division 6 bracket. The Wildcats will face 8th-seeded Wheatland (7-3). The Summerville Bears (8-2) are the 3rd seed in the Division 7 bracket and will face 6th-seeded Rio Vista (6-4). Calaveras High (8-2) is the top seed in Division 7. The Red Hawks, who finished on top in the Mother Lode League, will face 8th-seeded Le Grand (6-4).
