Sonora, CA — The Sonora Police Department reports that two crashes resulting in injuries on Thursday afternoon involved a motorcycle and the other a pedestrian.
The first collision occurred on Friday (11/7) around 3:34 p.m. on East Lyons Street, north of Hope Lane. SPD reports that the rider of a westbound 2014 Harley motorcycle tried to pass a 2017 Ford F-150 pickup, turning across the eastbound lane into a private driveway and colliding. The rider, luckily, only suffered minor injuries.
The second collision took place around 5:20 p.m. on Highway 49/Stockton Street, near the intersection of Southgate Drive. SPD relayed that an eastbound 2024 Chevy Trailblazer SUV struck a 16-year-old pedestrian walking in the crosswalk on the roadway. The pedestrian sustained major but non-life-threatening injuries and was flown to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto for treatment. Police report that drugs or alcohol were not a factor in these wrecks, which remain under investigation.
