Sonora Man Arrested After Allegedly Holding Wife At Gunpoint

Sonora, Ca — A Sonora woman is now safe, after allegedly being held at gunpoint by her husband.

Lieutenant Dan Bressler with the Tuolumne County Sheriff´s Office says the incident occurred at a residence in the Crystal Falls area of Sonora. Deputies arrived at the house on Saturday night around 10:25pm. Upon arriving, the suspect was taken into custody without incident.

Bressler says that investigation revealed that during the incident, the male head-butted his wife causing injury to her nose. He also forcefully moved her to different areas of the residence and threatened to shoot her with a handgun.

The man is in custody on $75,000 bail. His name and address are being withheld by the Sheriff´s Office at this time. He faces charges of kidnapping, spousal abuse, use of a gun during a felony and disabling a phone line.
